In the intense competition of the 2024 China Road Cycling Professional League (Puyang Station, Henan), the Pingtan International Tourism Island Continental Cycling Team, supported by equipment from ODIN wheelsets, demonstrated exceptional teamwork and tactical execution to secure the first-place position in the team standings. This achievement highlights the team’s formidable prowess in China’s professional road cycling league.
On April 20th, on the race circuit in Puyang County, the riders of the Pingtan International Tourism Island Continental Team launched a full-scale attack in the 212-kilometer urban circuit race. Facing challenges from numerous elite domestic and international competitors, team members Li Shuai, Jiang Zhihui, Teng Yun, Li Honghai, Long Xiuhui, Ivan, Anton, and Nikita delivered outstanding performances, collectively writing a glorious chapter for the team.
During the race, the team’s tactical arrangements played a crucial role. As support riders, Ivan and Anton successfully helped Jiang Zhihui and Li Shuai secure points at intermediate sprints and mountain climbs. Meanwhile, Li Honghai and Long Xiuhui were responsible for providing supplies to their teammates, ensuring they maintained peak condition throughout the competition. Although Long Xiuhui was forced to withdraw during the second lap due to an unexpected incident, he quickly adjusted his mindset and switched to providing logistical support for his teammates.
In the intermediate sprint of the third lap, Jiang Zhihui secured first place among the Greater China riders, earning valuable points for the team. Subsequently, in the climb point segment of the tenth lap, Li Shuai also claimed first place among the Greater China riders, further solidifying the team’s leading position.
During the final sprint, the team’s foreign riders Ivan, Anton, and Nikita, along with Li Shuai, provided solid support for Jiang Zhihui. Despite some confusion in the sprint phase, Anton reacted swiftly, closely following Hu Haijie of the Shenzhen Xidesheng Team, and ultimately crossed the finish line in fourth place.
The outstanding performance of the Pingtan International Tourism Island Continental Team not only secured first place in the stage team ranking but also earned them second place in the Greater China stage team ranking. Additionally, the team climbed from 7th to 6th in the overall team standings, while their total team points jumped from 6th to 3rd place.
